Maison et Objet fall 2024 runs from September 5-9 at the Parc des Expositions of Paris-Nord Villepinte.

Hong Kong Design On Stage, a pavilion specifically curated to celebrate the current generation of Hong Kong design talents. With a dedicated approach to “conscious design”, the pavilion is presenting ten forward-thinking design studios’ creations, focusing on circularity, sustainability and responsible practices towards a better future.

The Hong Kong Pavilion and 8 Winning Hong Kong Designers

Through their design products that seamlessly integrate into our daily lives. These innovative projects are often echoing the unique Eastern culture and heritage of Hong Kong, yet a global metropolis.

Eight emerging talents have been selected by a jury composed of acclaimed personalities, for the uniqueness, relevance and creativity of their proposals: Hintegro, Green & Associates (HK), Monica Tsang Designs, @streetsignhk, Studio RYTE, and Studio Yellowdot for their product design; BEAU Architects and MLKK Studio for their interior design.

Opening Ceremony of Hong Kong Pavilion

Mr. Kevin Yeung Yun-Hung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, was there on September 5th, the Showcase’s opening day, to give a speech in honor of this event. Mr. Philippe Delhomme, President of Executive Board SAFI – Maison&Objet, Mr. Jean-Sebastien Attié, Executive Director of Alliance Française de HK, co-organizer, and Mr. Franck Millot, Director of Partnerships & Special Events of Maison&Objet, have joined him at the ribbon-cutting ceremony that followed.

On-site set up and preparation

To build the whole pavilion, LAAB created unique bricks that are combined with recyclable plastic and aluminum. Their ingenious material and design plays have been exhibited to highlight Hong Kong’s inventive and imaginative design. Recycled PET water bottles that were gathered from many Hong Kong schools were used to 3D print the prototype bricks. Because they were stackable and extremely light, the bricks reduced their carbon impact by requiring less weight and volume for shipment.

Announcement of Design Factory Cocktail Reception

The launch of “Maison&Objet Design Factory” in Hong Kong from 5th to 7th December 2024 was celebrated with an exclusive dinner at Pierre Augustin Rose’s Parisian showroom. Hong Kong Chef Nero created a Cantonese menu, revealing Hong Kong specialties in Paris. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Kevin Yeung Yun-Hung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Mr. Philippe Delhomme, Chairman of the executive board of the Maison&Objet organising company.
